I love making dresses, now I’ve made two Christmas dresses for my granddaughter. My daughter has chosen the fabric for the dress with the arm ruffels and I’ve chosen the other one. I’ve used two different patterns from Ikatee, the Madrid and Helsinki. For the Helsinki dress I also made a pair of leggings, that pattern is from Hallonsmuladesign.
Madrid is made in size 74 in a cotton double gauss fabric bought from Tygdrömmar and the colour is rust red, around the neckline and the hem I added en embroidered ruffle. For the back I added ties and covered buttons.
The Helsinki dress is made in size 74 in a red jersey fabric with deers, also bought from Tygdrömmar. Around the waist I added a band in the same fabric as the leggings and ties at the back.
I cut out the deers and added them to the knees on the leggings that has a fabric with red dots. I also widened the legs to a size 80.
